There are nine main categories for abstract submission: 

• Primary Care and Population Health  
• Acute and Tertiary Care  
• Community and Long-Term Care  
• Education and Training  
• Digital Practice and Technology  
• Innovation and Quality Improvement  
• Professional and Workforce Development  
• Students Track – Up to two years post-graduation 
• Others 

The correct category must be selected during submission by the author in the online portal to ensure correct scoring. 

The IAHC 2024 Scientific Committee may reassign an abstract to another track, where applicable. 

All submitted abstracts may be eligible for the Scientific Competition. 
Details of the Scientific Competition will be available at a later date. 

There are two types of abstracts that can be submitted:

• Oral Abstracts: You will be informed of the oral presentation guidelines, and specific date and venue for your presentation after your abstract is accepted and once the conference schedule is finalised.
• Poster/E-Poster abstracts: You will be required to display your poster throughout the event from 1 to 2 November 2024 so that delegates can view your poster any time during the event hours. You will be informed of the poster type (physical or E-Poster) and specific requirements by September 2024.

Presenting authors of all accepted abstracts will be required to register for the conference. Failure to register by the deadline, 30 August 2024, will result in the withdrawal of the abstract from the programme. 

Abstracts can only be submitted online via the online abstract submission system. Abstracts sent by post or email will not be accepted. No exceptions will be made.

Abstracts should be structured into the following sections:

• A title which indicates the content of the abstract 
• Background & Objectives   
• Methods   
• Results   
• Discussion and Conclusion  

Word Limit: 

The acceptable length of the abstract is 300 words or less. This does not include the title and authors. Graphs and tables are not allowed.

Language: 

Only submissions in English will be accepted. As the submitted abstracts will be reproduced exactly as provided, without any proofreading, please ensure that your abstract is free from errors, including spelling, grammatical, or scientific errors.

Oral presentation:

• If an abstract is accepted for oral presentation, the presenting author, as specified at submission, will be requested to provide a 10 minute in-person presentation. 
• Details will be communicated to the author by September 2024. 
• If the abstract is accepted for oral presentation, the authors, represented by the presenting author, will grant IAHC2024 the right to share the presentation slides and use them for educational purposes. 

Poster presentation:

• If an abstract is accepted as a Poster presentation, the presenting author may be requested to be available for discussion during the corresponding Poster viewing session. 
• Details on how to create your Posters will be communicated to the author by September 2024. 

Abstracts can be saved in “Draft” status to be re-edited and modified until the submission
deadline (Monday, 15 July 2024, 23:59 GMT +8).

Abstracts can only be submitted if all required abstract submission fields have been completed. Only abstracts in “Submitted” status will be regarded as successfully submitted and considered for the conference. Once an abstract has been submitted, no changes can be made.

Should authors wish to withdraw from the conference, a written statement reflecting the reasons for withdrawing your abstract must be sent to  iahc2024-program@icsevents.com by 15 October 2024 (23:59 GMT +8).

• Abstracts accepted for the conference are subject to the “Transfer of copyright”. With the submission of an abstract, the authors agree to the transfer of copyright. 
• The Corresponding Author has the right to grant, and does grant, on behalf of all authors an exclusive license on a worldwide basis to IAHC 2024 to publish the abstract (if accepted) in any media and to exploit all subsidiary rights. 
• Should the abstract be selected for oral presentation, the authors, represented by the presenting author, will grant IAHC 2024 the right to share the presentation slides and subsequently use it for educational purposes.   
• Submitting an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the presenting author to present the abstract (if accepted) orally or as a poster in the session and the time assigned by the IAHC 2024 Scientific Committee. We therefore recommend that submitters of abstracts register for the conference simultaneously with the abstract submission. 
• Scheduling of Poster/E-poster sessions and abstract presentations is at the discretion of the Scientific Committee.
• IAHC 2024 does not provide any individual feedback on the reasons for acceptance/rejection of an abstract. 
• If the presenter does not register for the IAHC 2024 by 30 August 2024, the abstract will be withdrawn from the IAHC 2024. 
• Abstracts must adhere to the guidelines and terms above to be accepted. The IAHC 2024 Scientific Committee will make the final decision about the acceptance of an abstract.
