Emeritus Professor Mary Lovegrove (OBE)
Emeritus Professor of Education and Development for AHPs,

Emeritus Professor Mary Lovegrove is a diagnostic radiographer by profession. She is currently an Envoy to the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Health at Coventry University and a Visiting Professor at Buckinghamshire New University. Mary has extensive experience being a Board member of several organisations, including health care providers, professional bodies, charities and education academy trusts. She has considerable research experience in workforce improvements and education developments for the allied health and wider non-medical workforce. She has a particular interest and expertise in clinical leadership and in the impact of education and training of AHPs. She is the Co-Director of Allied Health Solutions, a small company that promotes enterprise, innovation, and partnership. She was awarded the Order of the British Empire in the Queen’s Jubilee Honours in 2012, and the inaugural International Allied Health Award for Excellence in 2013.

Plenary Session 1: Orchestrating Harmony - Unlocking The Opportunities For Allied Health
Prof Carolyn McDonald
Prof Carolyn McDonald is the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer (CAHPO) for the Scottish Government and has been in post since January 2020.
As CAHPO, Prof Carolyn provides professional leadership in the Scottish Government for the third largest National Health Service (NHS) Scotland workforce as lead for all 14 allied health professions. She provides expert advice to Scottish Government Ministers and policy officials on professional matters affecting all disciplines including education, training, workforce, regulation and practice.
Prof Carolyn graduated as an Occupational Therapist in Dublin, Ireland in 1985 and has worked all her professional life in Scotland holding various clinical roles in acute and community settings across older people and children’s services as well as in public health research.
Prof Carolyn is currently the professional lead within the Scottish Government on several key policy areas including rehabilitation. She also presented at the 3rd Global Rehabilitation 2030 meeting in Geneva, Switzerland in 2023 on the policy and action on rehabilitation in Scotland. She leads certain aspects of the Scottish Government Preventative and Proactive Care policy which includes ‘Getting it Right for Everyone (GIRFE)’ and ‘Waiting Well’.
Prof Carolyn is an Honorary Professor at both Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh and Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
Jenny Campbell
Ms Jenny Campbell is currently employed as the Chief Allied Health Officer, Department of Health, Western Australia (WA). Jenny provides leadership and strategic direction for Western Australia’s allied health and health science workforce to ensure organisational capability to meet the current and future needs of Western Australian consumers. She has clinical background in Occupational Therapy and extensive experience as an Allied Health practitioner and leader. Jenny is a skilled and motivated strategic leader in the public health space with proven success in embedding sustainable change. She has held several executive roles including Executive Director Clinical Excellence, Department of Health, WA and NMHS Allied Health Director, North Metropolitan Health Service. In her roles, she has managed projects in clinical commissioning and digital health.
Jenny is a champion for the positive influence Allied Health and Health Science professions can have on system reform and opportunities for advanced practice. Jenny is passionate about improving the capability and capacity of Allied Health researchers and chaired the 2021 and 2023 Australian National Allied Health Conferences.
Lorrie Cramb
Ms Lorrie Cramb is the Provincial Chief Allied Health Officer and Executive Director for the Allied Health Policy Secretariat at the British Columbia (B.C.) Ministry of Health. Lorrie is a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s degree in Adult Education and has over 30 years of experience in health care, academia and government settings at local, provincial and national levels.
Lorrie was integral in establishing the government’s first Allied Health Policy Secretariat and Provincial Allied Health Strategic Plan to raise the profile of the Allied Health workforce and provide strategic oversight and leadership for education, training, recruitment, retention and practice optimisation of Allied Health professionals. Her strategic leadership, clinical practice and policy experience have led to several achievements that strengthen Allied Health services in B.C. and support key priorities of government.
As the first Provincial Chief Allied Health Officer in Canada and a strong advocate and change agent, Lorrie wants to strengthen Allied Health leadership across the health system, not only in B.C., but across Canada, to ensure a more equitable approach to health human resource policy, planning and funding.
Lorrie is married with two teenage boys and lives on the west coast of British Columbia, in the capital city of Victoria.
L. Mageswary Lapchmanan
Ms L. Mageswary Lapchmanan is a dietitian by profession and currently serving as the Director of the Allied Health Sciences Division at the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. She is renowned for her stewardship and vast contribution to the growth of Allied Health, Nutrition and Dietetics. Her efforts in national policy development, strategic planning, and regulation have been pivotal for the advancement of Allied Health Professions (AHPs) in Malaysia. Ms. Mageswary has collaborated extensively with the World Health Organisation (WHO) on projects aimed at establishing new recommendations and policies for workforce development to strengthen AHPs.
In recognition of her meritorious service, she was awarded the Kesatria Mangku Negara (K.M.N.) by His Majesty Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, the King of Malaysia in 2022. She is a strong advocate for continuous quality improvement, teamwork, and has a particular interest in advanced practice within allied health.
Dr Martin Chadwick
Dr Martin is the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer within the Ministry of Health, working in partnership with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Clinical Officer Maternity and Chief Nursing Officer in providing transdisciplinary clinical leadership and advice. The role works at a systems level as well as providing support to clinicians, programmes and projects across the Ministry. He is aligning a work programme around what he describes as the five challenges facing allied health. This includes the challenges of demonstrating the value add of the allied health professions to population health outcomes; and working towards the concept of transdisciplinary working in the provision of healthcare services.
Martin was the 2019-20 New Zealand Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice. He has completed his doctoral degree in 2019 examining health workforce change. He is passionate about the untapped potential that allied health professions can bring in improving the quality of care provided to our populations, and in turn better meeting equitable population health needs.

Adj Prof Susan Niam is the first Chief Allied Health Officer in the Ministry of Health, Singapore since 2018. Adj Prof Susan provides professional leadership in guiding the development and deployment of Allied Health models of care to catalyse effective care transition to the most appropriate settings. She also provides professional input to policies concerning the allied health workforce and professional capabilities development. Prior to this appointment, Adj Prof Susan was the Chairperson of Allied Health Services and Pharmacy Division at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore for nine years. She graduated from the Auckland Institute of Technology and has a Master of Physiotherapy from Curtin University of Technology and a Vestibular Rehabilitation Certificate from Emory University School of Medicine. Adj Prof Susan is an active volunteer in community organisations for 30 years.

Prof Beverley Harden (MBE)
Professor Beverley Harden is a physiotherapist by profession, and an international expert in Allied Health workforce optimisation, leading national efforts across NHS England. She leads the national Multiprofessional Advancing Practice program, developing educational and career pathways for enhanced, advanced and consultant level practice. She was awarded the Churchill Fellowship in 2023 to drive the collaborative development of a global network of Allied Health workforce leaders. She is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Winchester. Outside of the NHS, she is Board Trustee for Carers UK and, as a carer herself, is a passionate advocate for informal carers across the UK.
Dr Jacqui Lunday (OBE)
Jacqui is an experienced and impactful Allied Health, Scientific and Technical leader with an international profile and extensive multi-professional networks. She is based in New Zealand for the last six years. Her previous experience includes more than 10 years as a technical advisor to the World Health Organisation in Geneva, alongside working as Chief Health Professions Officer for the Scottish Government for 17 years.
Jacqui was awarded an Order of the British Empire in 2015 for services to healthcare and health professions. She is an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, a Doctor of Queen Margaret’s University, and she also holds a BSc and a Diploma in Occupational Therapy. She is a Registered Occupational Therapist in New Zealand and a Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
Adj Prof Lita Chew
Adj Prof Lita Chew is a pharmacist by training, with more than 30 years of practice experience in oncology pharmacy. She received her pharmacy degree from National University of Singapore and obtained her post-graduate studies in medical science (clinical oncology) at University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. She completed her fellowship training in pharmacy practice at the University Illinois Chicago, USA.
Adj Prof Chew’s contribution impacts allied health and pharmacy workforce and pharmacy practice in Singapore. Her current roles involve overseeing and managing manpower planning and development, programmes and services development across multiple locations across 11 SingHealth institutions.
She is instrumental in the development and implementation of the National Pharmacy Strategy, a 10-year plan to transform the pharmaceutical landscape in Singapore. She presently serves as a member of National Allied Health Strategy Steering Committee to provide guidance on the implementation of the landscape study.
An inspiring leader who is passionate in workforce development to improve safety and quality of care, she continues her leadership journey to transform the practice landscape for allied health and pharmacy communities.

A/Prof Susan Nancarrow

A/Prof Susan is an allied health professional, health services researcher, recovering academic, and aspiring entrepreneur. With a career spanning more than three decades, A/Prof Susan is dedicated to driving innovative approaches to understanding and shaping the health workforce to meet the evolving needs of the 21st century.
In 2022, A/Prof Susan founded HealthWork International, a global company that collaborates with health service organisations, peak bodies and governments to reshape the health workforce. Through consultancy services, brokering communities of practice and training, and supporting professional standards and regulation, HealthWork International is at the forefront of workforce transformation.
A/Prof Susan has held senior executive roles in higher education, including Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research), Chair of Academic Board, and Professor of Health Sciences. Her extensive international experience includes a decade working in the UK and participating in internationally funded health workforce projects across the Asia-Pacific region.
A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, A/Prof Susan is currently the Deputy Chair and non-executive Director of the Northern New South Wales Local Health District Board. She is the founding chair of the North Coast Allied Health Association and the Allied Health Assistant National Association. Additionally, she has served as an ex-officio member of the Southern Cross University Council and held positions on several not-for-profit boards.
A/Prof Susan's allied health career has encompassed a variety of health management and clinical roles, including community health service manager and small business owner. She has coordinated services for Aboriginal health, diabetes care, and provided primary healthcare as a volunteer in Northern India.
Outside work, A/Prof Susan is a mother to two teenagers, a keen surfer, and an aspiring artist. She is also the co-author of "The Allied Health Professions: A Sociological Perspective" (2021, Policy Press), highlighting her commitment to advancing the field through both practice and scholarship.

Director, Allied Health and Chief Pharmacist, Sengkang General Hospital, Singapore
Adj A/Prof Camilla Wong has 29 years of experience in healthcare and is currently the Director, Allied Health and Chief Pharmacist, Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) and Chief Pharmacist at the Ministry of Health (MOH).
At SKH, Adj A/Prof Wong has been integral in the planning of the infrastructure, processes and services not only for Allied Health services but the hospital as a whole. She is a member of a number of SKH committees including the Medical Board and IT Steering Committee, and as part of the SKH Senior Management team, serves as a catalyst for collaborative partnerships between the various departments and SKH stakeholders.
Adj A/Prof Wong has played an integral role in the development of career pathways and competency frameworks for the pharmacists and Allied Health professionals both cluster-wide and nationally. She has been a role model and mentor to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals, with many helming leadership and headship positions.
Recognised as a leader in healthcare, she has been appointed to numerous committees spanning a variety of portfolios including, the SHS Allied Health Council, One Rehabilitation Workgroup, Institute of Patient Safety and Quality and Patient Experience Council, and the Singapore Pharmacy Council, MOH Pharmacist Specialist Accreditation Board and Drug Advisory Committee, and HSA Product Vigilance Advisory Committee.
As Chief Pharmacist, MOH, Adj A/Prof Wong oversees the National Pharmacy Strategy which spans over 19 initiatives, encompassing pharmaceutical care excellence, developing a confident pharmacy workforce, re-designing the supply chain, and information and technology enablement. She has also initiated the PharmForce initiative that focuses on establishing a healthy, motivated and resilient pharmacy workforce to deliver value-added services that meet the population needs.
She is a past president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore (PSS) and has received a number of awards including the PSS’s Professor Lucy Wan, Outstanding Pharmacist of the Year Award, Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations Ishidate Award for Hospital Pharmacy, Group CEO SingHealth Excellence Award for Allied Health and the Singapore National Day Awards, Long Service and Commendation Medals, and The Public Administration Medal (Bronze) for the National Awards (COVID-19).
